The Jamie Larcombe Centre
Work on the construction of the new veterans mental health precinct at Glenside, the Jamie Larcombe Centre, is well underway. The Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) are managing the project with Greenway Architects developing the building design. Schiavello Constructions (SA) have been awarded the building contract with Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) engaged as the Cost Consultant.
An Integrated Management Team (IMT) has been established comprising representatives from DPTI, Schiavello Constructions (SA), SA Health (Ward 17, SALHN, CALHN), Greenway Architects, RLB and Veterans SA and held its second meeting on Wednesday 11 January 2017. Other representatives will participate in the IMT as required such as landscape architects (Oxygen). The IMT is tasked to provide the day to day operational management for the development of the Jamie Larcombe Centre.
Site clearance has been completed with the exception of a small area surrounding what will be the Partnerships Hub where spoil and foundation material from now demolished buildings remains prior to removal. Building pad preparation and compaction is complete and car park, storm-water and some trenching for the new building has commenced.
It is anticipated that above ground works will commence in the next few weeks with the Centre being opened towards the end of 2017.
