In this lively talk, Captain Sharon Mascall-Dare will share the stories of the men and women who deployed alongside her in Iraq from November 2016 until June 2017. Human, inspiring and always professional, their experiences capture the day-to-day realities and challenges of deployment on operations today.

Captain Mascall-Dare is a Military Public Affairs Officer serving in the Australian Army Reserve. Currently posted to Headquarters 9th Brigade, she deployed to Iraq with Task Group Taji IV where she launched the ADF’s inaugural ‘Our Stories’ podcast series. In her civilian life, Dr Mascall-Dare is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Adjunct Associate Professor Uni SA and serves on the South Australian Government’s Veterans Advisory Council.
