The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award is a national competition conducted through Australian Secondary Schools and Colleges and seeks to contribute to the personal development of 12-14 year old students by encouraging the best use of spoken English. Competitors need to be under 15 year of age on 1st January in the year of the competition. The aim of the Award is to enhance students’ oral communication skills, and to help young people appreciate the ideal of Legacy – voluntary service, social justice, caring, personal sacrifice and/or mateship.
