Sunday 04 November, 2018
275 Kensington Road
The War Widows Guild SA Branch will host the screening of Paris or The Bush to be held at the Regal Theatre, Kensington Park.
SA Documentary film by Dr Carolyn Bilsborow and Mr Wayne Groom. Paris or the Bush – The Story of the Cods is set to become one of the great Australian classics of all time!
It’s the story of the incredible Murray Bridge working class rowing team who, despite when starting out had no boat, no cash, no club house, won the coveted Kings Cup three times from 1920 to 1923, represented Australia at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, and in the middle of it all, served in World War One.
This is an extraordinary story of courage, humility, skill, class prejudice, war, sport and mateship. It is Australia’s greatest untold sporting story.
Included in ticket price: Tea, coffee and Anzac biscuits will be served at intermission.
