Cheer-Up Hut re-creations

Below you will find examples of previous Cheer-Up re-creations undertaken for the Anzac Centenary including:

  •  Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience Cheer-Up Hut – March 2016 Wayville Pavilion Adelaide
  •  Adelaide Cheer-Up Hut Torrens Parade Ground – May 2016
  •  Willunga Cheer-Up Hut – May 2016
  •  Mount Pleasant Cheer-Up Hut – May 2016

There have also been community Cheer-Up Huts re-created by City of West Torrens, City of Holdfast Bay at Glenelg, Seacliff and the Adelaide Hills.  There may be others we don’t yet know about?  If you have been to a Cheer-Up Hut re-creation in your local community, or have photographs of original Cheer-Up Huts in Adelaide or regional South Australia operating during World War I or World War II, we would love to hear from you.

Add your photo to this Gallery by emailing us at veteranssa@sa.gov.au

Photos of each Cheer-Up Hut re-created around South Australia throughout the Anzac Centenary will be added to this gallery.  These re-creations are the centrepiece of our State’s Anzac Centenary Community Engagement Plan.  Find out more about this strategy, including how you can become involved via membership of the Cheer-Up Hut Club.
