Reflections: Honouring our WW2 Veterans.
In 2014, the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) embarked on an ambitious project to photograph Australia’s remaining World War 2 Veterans. Accredited Professional Photographers nationwide donated their time and talent to create portraits of over 8,000 Australian servicemen and servicewomen to commemorate the 75th anniversary of WW11, thereby honouring our heroes and reflecting on what 100 years of the Anzac tradition means to us all. A selection of images is pictured below. In 2016, an exhibition of 100 portraits of South Australian servicemen and servicewomen will be presented at the Flinders University Art Museum from July 2 – September 11. More information will be provided on the community events section of this website shortly. Click on the images to see them in full and to read the captions that identify each Australian military hero pictured.
