Organisations and community groups are invited to apply for funding for projects within South Australia aimed at educating the community about the significance of the Anzac Centenary and commemorating our nation’s military heritage.

What grants are available?

The Anzac Day Commemoration Fund has operated in South Australia since 2005, providing up to $100,000 in grant funds annually toward projects that commemorate Anzac Day.  Throughout the Anzac Centenary period (2014 – 2018) the South Australian government has increased the Anzac Day Commemoration Fund from $100,000 to $350,000 annually until 30 June 2018 for projects that commemorate the Anzac Centenary including:

  • restoration and protection of war memorials across South Australia;
  • raising community awareness of the Anzac Centenary;
  • contributing to a state-wide program of diverse, inclusive and educative Anzac Centenary projects and activities;
  • encouraging community participation and engagement; and
  • promoting social, cultural and economic benefit to the community.

Grants within the range of $2,000 and $20,000* excluding GST are available. Projects outside these amounts are considered subject to competing priorities. Approved projects could include commemorative events, exhibitions, research, community education activities and the restoration of memorials. Applications that demonstrate collaborative approaches or partnerships are encouraged.

*Applications over $10,000 must include a comprehensive evaluation plan and evidence that alternative sources of funding have been explored.
