At 92, Charlie Miller could say he’s seen it all. After moving from Victoria to Mount Gambier, and joining the Air Force at 18, Charlie reflects on his time of military service, his moments dancing with girls from the eastern suburbs of Adelaide at the Cheer-Up Hut, and after all these years, he still remembers the four words needed to land his plane– undercarriage, mixture, pitch and flaps.
“Friday night we would go into Adelaide to the Cheer-Up Hut and have a wonderful meal…and lovely girls there…girls for the dancing. The girls were very charming.”
