Thomas Ferguson was in the 10th Battalion. He fought at Gallipoli and then went on to Egypt. After he survived the war, he returned to Kimba, received some Soldier Settlement land and persevered through 7 years of drought before heading to Tumby Bay to start up a boarding house, where he eventually married Olive.
Hear his story from his oldest great granddaughter, Lock resident Paula Brougham who was interviewed at the Port Augusta Cheer-Up Hut.
“We were told to be quiet and not too loud around him. He would give us left over tea from his saucer hold our chins and pour it down our throats.”
